A traditional wooden "firkin" or sugar bucket has a handle and lid. Handmade about 1890, the wooden lid and handle are original.
A "firkin" is an old English unit of volume, and today means a wooden pail of about 10 liters or 2-3 gallons. This antique pine bucket was crafted like half of a barrel, it has warm patina and original wooden banding. The lid has a warp, see photos.
Excluding the handle, this picturesque antique Americana treasure measures 12" diameter and 12" tall.
