Signed pair of Kelva vases, hand decorated by the C.F. Monroe company. The rarest of the three lines of C.F. Monroe decorated opalwares, Kelva items of any type are difficult to find. A light shade of red, (the photo's show just a bit deeper color than they actually are), the decorated opalware of both vases is superb condition with very little wear. These vases each had a scroll type silverplate handle which has been removed or broken off. An example of this decoration on a similar vase can be seen in Wilfred R. Cohen's book, Wave Crest The Glass of C.F. Monroe, on page 157. These vases each stand 8 inches tall.
